As the work day winds down on this frigid day, all I can seem to think about is snuggling in my bed. My sheets aren’t quite as stylish as these Marimekko Kullervo ones from Crate and Barrel, but that doesn’t stop me from daydreaming about laying my head on my feathery pillow. There is only one use in my sights for my pillowcase, but here are three alternate uses that might surprise you.

1. Delicates bag: Don’t have a mesh baggie for laundering your delicates? Throw them in a pillowcase, seal it and toss in the wash. The necessary water and detergent will get through to the hosiery or lingerie, but they will be well protected from damage.
2. Dusting aid: It seems when you dust a ceiling fan, all the debris waft down to the room below. Remove the dust and keep it contained by feeding an old pillowcase onto each blade and carefully wiping the dust into the case’s interior.
